Nevada Wild Conservation Talks

The month of April marks the beginning of conservation talks in southern Nevada! Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness for their Wild Speaker Series the first Thursday of every month, at REI Boca Park, where a local environmental expert will speak in their community room. This is a great opportunity for people who are interested in learning more about local hikes, wildlife habitat, and how to get involved with volunteering for conservation events. There will be a new speaker every month.

This Thursday will kick off the series with Jim Stanger, president of Friends of Sloan Canyon, who will give a presentation about the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, one of Southern Nevada’s hidden treasures for recreation and conservation. Come learn about what to look forward to this summer in Sloan Canyon including the new visitor’s center, upcoming events and more!

Friends of Nevada Wilderness is a non-profit organization, dedicated to: preserving all public lands in Nevada as wilderness, protecting all present and potential wilderness from threats, educating the public about the values of and need for wilderness, and improving the management and restoration of designated wilderness areas.
