Great Community Cleanup

Do you like to recreate in Nevada’s Truckee River Meadows? Do you want to help improve wildlife habitat by cleaning up garbage and removing invasive weeds? If so, get outside and help clean up the Truckee River watershed this Saturday, April 27!

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is seeking volunteers to help clean up more than 20 sites throughout the Truckee Meadows, during their annual Great Community Cleanup. This is a family-friendly volunteer event, where the whole family can help keep Nevada’s outdoor spaces clean. This event is organized and funded by Nevada Department of Wildlife and Friends of Nevada Wilderness, among many other agencies and non-profit organizations. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here.

If you are not available this weekend to volunteer, but want to get involved in helping clean up the Truckee River in Nevada, review their website for other volunteer opportunities. You can also report illegal dumping activities to the Illegal Dumping Task Force by calling 775-329-DUMP or on the WCSO app.
