Wildlife Wednesdays: Bighorn Sheep Events

It’s Wildlife Wednesday! Here at Know Your Neighbors we keep you up to date with upcoming wildlife events in Nevada, and offer fun suggestions for where you can go to observe local wildlife with friends and family. It’s great way to connect with nature and loved ones!

On August 8, 14, 22 and 30 the Nevada Department of Wildlife will be at Hemenway Valley Park offering informal classes for the public on desert bighorn sheep that reside around the Lake Mead area. Each class is scheduled from 1-3:30 p.m. It’s a great opportunity for the public to hear fascinating, local information on this endangered species.

Take some time out of your busy schedule to take advantage of the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s classes on the desert bighorn sheep. You can get some more background information on the Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep on our recent Endangered Species blog.  Be sure to come prepared with your own questions to ask department representatives!

It takes only 30 minutes to drive between Las Vegas and Hemenway Valley Park, 20 minutes from Henderson – a small investment to hear great information straight from the biologists! Find out more information about these classes on Boulder City Review’s article.
